What if the draft came back due to another terrorist attack? Imagine all males ages 18-35 start receiving letters in the mail informing them that they had been chosen and when they would have to report. What would you do with your last 30 days before you’re drafted? Screened at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, Day Zero, from Director Bryan Gunnar Cole and Write/Producer Robert Malkani, follows three friends in their last month before entering the Army.

The movie follows George (Chris Klein), Aaron (Elijah Wood), and Dixon (Jay Bernthal) showing you how each of them handles what is to come. George’s wife Molly (Ginnifer Goodwin) has just started recovery after receiving treatment for cancer and it doesn’t look like his legal education is going to find him a loophole to stay home while she recovers. Aaron’s writing career looks like it’s on the shelf after just one published work as he struggles with his lack of preparation versus his moral obligation. And Dixon, your typical street smart New York cabbie who fails to mention his draft status before he starts a relationship with Patricia (Elizabeth Moss).

Day Zero is currently showing in a limited number of theaters nationwide, but will be available on DVD February 26th.

I’m not sure what I would do in my last 30 days before entering the Army, but I would like to hear what you would do?
