This needs to stop.
Few intellectual properties deserve to be made into a movie. Even less deserve a sequel. The Final Destination series of movies should have been canned after the first one, and that’s being generous.
So now they’re coming out with a fourth movie. They gave up on trying to follow the main characters from the original Final Destination after they realized no one wanted to sign back on. the basic premise of these movies is that a group of people cheat death. Death gets ticked and tries to kill them at every chance they get. To escape from death, someone has to have a baby. This movies teaches children that if your friend tells you not to get in a car because of a bad feeling they have, your options are to take your chances or prepare to make a baby while trying to survive for 9 months.
To spice things up, New Line Cinema has decided to shoot this movie in 3D. At least the glasses will provide some form over covering to prevent people from noticing you at the theater. The last time I was excited about 3D was the Muppet ride in Disney World. I thought that 3D was reserved for children’s movies, but apparently it will also be used for wasted budget films.
Variety reported that Shantel VanSanten, Bobby Campo, Hayley Webb, Nick Zano, Krista Allen, and Andy Fiscella will staring (aka throwing away their career) in the 4th installment of this awful franchise. Maybe a good plot line for the 5th movie would be a documentary covering the lives of actors who starred in this series and how they wish death had actually taken them instead of just their career.
