Frankly speaking, I think I will be a bit subjective, ’cause I like Thurman. But, in general, the movie didn’t disappoint me much. Most people can call it a too-sweet-women movie, but I would like to argue!

It is simply catching… It keeps in suspense and… it is REAL, TRUE yeah I was looking namely for this word. It makes you burst into laughter and in a couple of minutes into tears, then it makes you feel happy and in the next minute  – upset. The movie is about life, especially about its duality, it is about choices and friendship.

To my mind, it was worth every minute I spent watching it! \

Donnas prom night were supposed to be the best night in her life, but out of a sudden, everything turned upside down and instead of dancing and feeling fine, she and her friends have to find a way to escape the obsessed killer, and what is more to survive their long-waited Prom Night.

My opinion sound like - EXCELLENT MOVIE! Even brilliant. What I liked the most, it was more than scary, sometimes I found myself sitting right on the edge of my seat and almost ready to close my eyes. Simply try to imagine it, a gentle night, a night for love turned into a night to die for! I think the ticket was worth every penny I paid for it. By the way, cast and play were great!

Impressions

Well, not great, but descent enough. As for me, the acting was rather nice, even very nice; Jessica Alba is surprisingly amazing. And I must say, this movie thrills and keeps in suspension, it is really scaring. The ending was pretty impressive and worth waiting. Some moments are preposterous indeed and you even can’t understand “what for?”, they made me laugh.

The movie is not a horror one, I think it is more a drama multiplied by a psychological thriller.

An amazing adaptation of a Philip Pullman novel His Dark Materials (namely the 1st book of the trilogy). A young student Laura Belaqua (Dakota Blue Richards) lives in Oxford’s Jordan College, she is just a young girl living together with scholars. One day she heard a conversation between her relatives. It was about an extraordinary particle. This particle was rumoured to be able to unite the Universe. It can be found exceptionally in the vast Artic expanse of the North. Unfortunately, there were people striving to destroy this particle and to prevent the Universe from uniting. Lyra turned to be a center and a main hero of this battle, she was destined to lose or to win…

What about my own impressions after The Golden Compass ?

They are quite ambiguous: from the one hand, acting was really incredible (Nicole Kidman is flawless here and Eva Green description of Dust and other world is brilliant), fascinating and good, some scenes grabbed my attention: for example, Ice Bear fighting, but on the other hand, without having profound knowledge what it is all about, you’ll hardly understand the movie. So, either read before watching or strictly follow the plot line. But, the movie was worth my attention and now I feel ashamed being cynical about it. So, watch it!!!
