MAMMA MIA!
The summer of 2008 invariably seems to be the season of Mamma Mia, the romantic musical comedy based on the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs from “Dancing Queen,” “Money, Money, Money,” “S.O.S.,” “The Winner Takes It All” and “Take a Chance on Me.” Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, Mamma Mia is a story of the celebrations, experiences, twists associated with motherhood.

It features Donna (Meryl Streep) and her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and also Pierce Brosnan, Dominic Cooper, Colin Firth, Christine Baranski, Stellan Skarsgård and Julie Walters. Donna, a single mother owns a small hotel in a Greek island and is eager to marry off Sophie to a suitable groom.

She invites two of her old girlfriends for Sophie’s wedding. But Sophie has a secret plan and invites three likely paternal candidates of her own. Here begins an ensuing conflict of performances from the all time ABBA hits, as the quest for the identity of her father begins, coupled with rekindling new romances and old love.

Wall-E
2008 is just about to see yet another fantastic endeavor from Andrew Stanton (of Finding Nemo fame) in the form of Wall-E. Set to be released on 27th June, this film is imaginative, futuristic and sci-fi coupled with adventure and comedy. The film begins with a not-so-real concept, when mankind had to leave its own homeland, the planet Earth and accidently left the last remaining robot turned on.

Wall-E or Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class, the central character carries on what he was destined to do for hundreds of years and then suddenly all sets to change when it comes across another robot, EVE. EVE is actually a search robot.

Finding out that Wall-E has stumbled upon the key to the future of the planet, EVE races away back to the humans in space, who are awaiting the time to be back into the planet safely. Teaming up with hilarious partners like a pet cockroach and a bunch of malfunctioning robots, Wall-E set on in his adventurous yet funniest journey, chasing EVE across the galaxies.

Predictably, a must see this season.

Oh, goodness, dear child! You found yourself amazing afterward? In my land, we probably would have considered you amazing to begin with. Hollywood, Hasbro, Michael Bay have made Transformers practically pornographic. They've taken a cherished childhood icon and smeared it for adult pleasure and profit. Furthermore, they've now taken Transformers away from kids. Hasbro needs to rethink this direction and Bay needs to clean up his act - This movie was sexist,
