Science Fiction film Surrogates has hit theatres this weekend. The mind blowing opening of the film which sums 20 years worth of exposition in 5 minutes is not to be missed. So, make sure you reach the theatre on time. James Cromwell is playing a disabled scientist named Canter who is able to control robotic appendages with human brain.
People started using surrogates or robots to do their routine work. Not only daily health threats are reduced, but crime level also diminishes. The new robotic bodies will remain young forever. As every coin has two faces, there are a bunch of people called dreads who do not want humanity to be run by robots. The dreads are lead by a prophet played by Ving Rhames. One day two surrogates are found with liquefied brains, fried optic sensors and memory cards. FBI Agent Tom Geer played by Bruce Willis comes into the picture now to solve the mystery.
Some people feel that James Cromwell has not been used completely in the film, though his character is very strong. Based on a graphic novel named Surrogate, the movie is must watch for all sci-fi fans. The movie is not expected to keep up the magic done by great movies like “Blade Runner” but it is surely an entertainment package besides keeping you captivated. All in all a must watch for all sci-fi fans.
