A story about adventures of an American teenager who can’t imagine his life without Hong Kong movies and kung-fu classics. In a Chinatown pawnshop he finds the mysterious and well-known among warriors stick weapon. It takes the teenager to ancient China and he becomes a part of a dangerous quest.
The Forbidden Kingdom is based on the Chinese novel named ‘Journey to the West’, almost all characters are taken from Chinese mythology. This movie survived 5 script rewritings.
What I was curious about: the meeting of two masters Jackie Chan and Jet Li! Actually, it was enough for me in order to buy a ticket. But, my general impression is not bad at all, not excellent, ’cause I am certainly respect martial arts, but I am not a very big fan. Everything was fine: the cinematography, some views were simply breathtaking, exemplary acting. Also, the movie has a lot of details that can be caught after a couple of viewings. The movie is full of humorous moments. Nice and worth watching!
