“Macabre Blood Shed drama” is what I would call ‘Mother of Tears’. The story begins with some workers digging up the road near Viterbo’s cemetery to broaden it. They find a chained ancient urn along with the coffin. Sarah the protagonist opens up an ancient urn. It contains age-old tunic along with some belongings of Mater Lacrimarum, the Third Mother (Moran Atias).

Mater Lacrimarum (the Mother of Tears), the only survivor of the three witches emerges out from her hideaway in Rome. Sinister events start engulfing the city resulting in ravage of suicides. Witches from world over gather at Rome to pay homage to the powerful witch. Sarah has to use her psychic abilities to stop Mother of Tears in establishing her rule.

Why I called ‘Mother of Tears’ macabre is because of brutal violence. Moreover, there is Nudity, Lesbian sexuality predominant in the movie. What more can one expect from Argento? The Mother of Tears will reach theatres in June 6, 2008.
