Hurray, Christmas is coming and it’s time to enjoy it: to make presents, to visit friends, to celebrate, to travel and to enjoy movies. The following list is not full but it’ll at least give you general information about the best Christmas movies:

  1. Home Alone

I still adore it!!! This movie is really adorable and kind and funny. It was written by John Hughes and Macaulay Culkin is it’s main star. He is an eight-year-old boy and he was accidentally left at home while his family flies to France to celebrate Christmas holidays. At first he enjoys being alone at home but then he was threatened by 2 burglars and the funny story begins…

It touches heart and soul, the play of Culkin is really incredible, it’s a terrific family movie, that is fun for all ages. There is a tradition in my family – there is no Christmas without “Home Alone”.

  2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The whole movie, angry and cruel Grinch tries to ruin Christmas for the Whos in Whoville. Once he was rejected by this people and now he wants to show them who he is and to steal their Christmas. He plans to steal trees, treats and presents. But, finally, love warms his heart and he finds true love and friendship.

Jim Carrey with his hyper acting is adorable here. The movie will surely become a timeless classic – bright and recognizable. The story line was incredible and catching.

  3. The Polar Express

This movie is adapted from Chris Van Allsburg’s Caldecott children’s book with completely the same title. It’s all about truth and myths about Christmas, its meaning and Santa Claus existence. Tom Hanks will take you on a train, riding to the North Pole. Along the way, you’ll learn many important and vital lessons.

Despite many not very pleasant reviews, the movie is not gloomy and not dark. The animation is spectacular and it’s educational, cheerful and touching. It will for sure become Christmas classic. This movie will return adults to their childhood and gives the spirit of Christmas and warmth. After watching it you do feel happier.

  4. Miracle on 34th Street

There are 2 versions of this movie, actually, both of them are nice. But, let’s view the version of 1947.

It is a story about one very gentle man, who worked as a Santa Claus at Macy’s department store in New York. A young girl was told that Santa Claus doesn’t exist and during the whole movie there are some events showing that everything is right on the contrary. If you haven’t seen one, you ought to do it. Only in such a case you’ll find out why this movie won the Oscar for Screenplay in 1947.

The movie is terrific, really cute, warmhearted and touching. While watching it you’ll either remember old times or just perfectly understand how it was. The atmosphere is festive.

  5. Elf

Great Christmas family comedy. Will Farrell plays the main role. A child was raised as an elf at the North Pole at Santa’s workshop, but as time flies he wants to find more about his biological father, so he goes to New York City and there he gets acquainted with city and human life temptations. He understood that citizens in New York forgotten the meaning of Christmas and decided to bring back the spirit of Christmas.

It’s a real holiday comedy. The soundtrack is great and the movie itself is very musical (“Baby It’s Cold Outside” featuring Ferrell and Deschanel).

I can’t let this list stand without adding that perennial classic, A Christmas Story. Good picks, though…but I like the new Miracle on 34th Street better.

That’s great! Thank you so much. “While you Were Sleeping” is a personal favorite of mine. It tells a very heart-warming story and the characters are very endearing. I have to say the acting wasn’t too bad as well. Thank you for the great list Ms Movie Angel and Merry Christmas to everyone especially those who love a good movie.

Oh, goodness, dear child! You found yourself amazing afterward? In my land, we probably would have considered you amazing to begin with. In the first 60 minutes, I will find myself laughing every 45 minutes? Heavens! That, if my mathematics are correct, is... umm, one laugh. Better I should watch that

Hollywood, Hasbro, Michael Bay have made Transformers practically pornographic. They've taken a cherished childhood icon and smeared it for adult pleasure and profit. Furthermore, they've now taken Transformers away from kids. Hasbro needs to rethink this direction and Bay needs to clean up his act - This movie was sexist,
