This is an impressive screen version of Stephen King’s story about the one writer (John Cusack) who doesn’t believe in what he is writing about. He writes about ghosts & all kind of paranormal phenomenons & occurrences.
His books are rather popular among housewifes & strange young guys. But the main internal problem of the hero is absence of any real & proven evidences of weird being. During all his life he is seeking & checking strange places to prove again & again that he is right in his unbelief.

But one day he got a hotel room with extremely terrible reputation of killing environment. No one could stay alive here more then 1 long long hour…..

He decided to try. And that was a real mistake of his self confidence.
You have to see it cuz some scenes are really stunning and sinister, like episode with the man in window opposite hotel…

As for me, the concept of the plot is a bit similat to Inland Empire but unlike it, 1408 is definitely for wide audience.

I promise you special dreams after it ) & felling of bit pleasant, irrational fear during perfomance…
