Bedtime stories is not a new movie but I managed to watch it only a couple weeks ago. And I can say that it is much better than I expected. Of course, the movie has nothing in common with evident Oscar material but I think it’s not something its creators have been dreaming of. I am ready to bet that those who made it were about to put smiles on faces of people (of all ages) and make a cute movie that kids would like. To my mind, they made even more, apart from a great movie for kids they managed to create a film that can satisfy their parents as well.
Of course, the movie is that great not only because of visuals and touching plot but because we have Adam Sandler here. He is amazing, so funny and completely believable. This is a funny and natural movie with a good heart. Sandler is a loser with a heart of gold and during the movie he finds his real love. The direction is light and fun, so the movie is highly entertaining. The movie is packed with romance, friendship, fulfillment of promises and a happy end, of course. Sandler turns to be a real hero.
I love the kids here – their played their roles in the best way possible. The movie is rather long but not boring at all, since it is very fast paced, quick and engaging. There are a couple of generations in the movie and all of them are centered around one hotel, that changes their loves and opens new horizons.
The most interesting part is a big-eyed guinea pig – it is such a cute animal to enjoy! Love the movie!
