‘Clubbed’ is a new British movie based on a book of Geoff Thompson “Watch My Back.” The following movie is about life troubles of an ordinary man - Danny, who is a miserable and lonely factory worker, and his life is terrible, boring and full of pain. He is afraid of life and people around, he got divorced with his wife, and he seems to stand everything – even humiliations in front of his own kids … But one day, when he finds himself on the verge of abyss, and he is as close to suicide as never before, he discovers some hidden energies and decides to fight back. Danny finds new friends – a group of night-club doormen and both intricate and dangerous story begins … He seems to get acquainted with reliable and honest people, whom he can trust.

The movie is really fantastic, intelligent and one of a kind, it is such a pleasure to enjoy talents not yet spoiled by Hollywood. I love the atmosphere of of the eighties: fashion, language, culture – the ambience is flawless. The movie is really deep and some of its moments touch to the quick. I really loved this film and, to tell the truth, I was expecting it to be not that great.
Believe me, the movie is not easy and not funny, but it will grab your attention immediately and in a couple of minutes you will find yourself really involved in the characters’ lives. The plot is twisted and it keeps you in suspense during the whole movie. It has some really violent moments, and I don’t recommend you to watch the movie with children, because such moments are too realistic and I was about to close my eyes for a couple of times. I am really glad that British cinema is shining again, because this movie is a real masterpiece. Don’t miss!
