Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Trailer

If you haven’t seen the original three Indiana Jones movies, now would be the time to start. Premiering May 22nd, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull brings you back to where Steven Spielberg and George Lucas left you over 20 years ago. Recently, many of the newer sequals to older movies have found the time period and setting changing to reflect modern day. It would appear that the time period has stayed the same in Indy’s latest adventure.

Fans of Harrison Ford will find him as the same Indiana Jones they know and love showing little to no signs of how the years have treated him. Few people seem to stand out as timeless badasses like Harrison Ford does. How many other actors out there have played one role that people have found as epic as Han Solo or Indiana Jones? But just as Han Solo had Chewbacca, Indiana Jones needs a sidekick. Up and comer Shia Labeouf will be filling the role of Indy’s unlikely sidekick in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull thanks to his success in Transformers and his other recent works. I expect some great things from Labeouf in the future, so hopefully he won’t disappoint here.

Take a look at the trailer to see some classic Nazi butt kicking Indiana Jones action.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine First Official Photo’s

Following the success of the X-Men Trilogy, X-Men Origins: Wolverine will follow everyone’s favorite Canuck as he claws through his past to find out exactly who he is. This picture below was leaked a few days before 20th Century Fox decided to spin it into a publicity piece with yesterdays edition of USA Today.

Jackman told USA Today that Wolverines nemesis Sabertooth “is going to play a big part in” X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Both of them have the secrets of their past tied together within the Weapon X program which makes humans into living weapons. He also said that “There will be a good bit of cameos but you can’t give too much away, because fans are pretty hard-core. Their expectations go up a level every time you come out with a new film.” With the comic Wolverine Origins sifting through our bladed friends past, will they follow the story or take artistic licence.

Considering there are plenty of Marvel characters with roots in the Weapon X program, X-Men Origins: Wolverine will either offer diehard fans some unexpected cameos or leave us with just Omega Red (Who was apparently listed in the credits of the third movie). But perhaps the mainstream world is just not ready to meet everyones favorite merch with a mouth, Deadpool. Considering they used all the left over junk from the Weapon X program to make him, it would easily fit but will most likely be passed on.

If you a little blue this Valentine’s Day or simply want to have a romantic evening with your beloved one, celebrate this day in your own special way – namely with a great movie.

  1. Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown

This movie belongs to never dying classic and it is as old as the hills. Many people don’t feel like watching it, but may be everything will be right on the contrary with you.

It’s Valentine’s Day (again!) and Charlie Brown dreams to get a valentine card from anyone. And the rest of the company (Lucy, Snoopy and Woodstock) are solving their own problems regarding St. Valentine’s Day.

    Gang of Charlie Brown

Ghostbusters Hotline Disconnected, New York In Panic

Ghostbusters When there’s something strange in the neighborhood, who you gonna call?

Apparently not the Ghostbusters, as the rumored third movie has officially been given the no go. Apparently a reporter from B-D caught up with original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman and was told “Dont count on it” when asked about the likelihood of a third movie. With the projected release of a Ghostbusters video game sometime in 2008, it’s very confusing as to why Sony would cut the cord on the movie with all the hype behind it.

Regardless of whether the script revolved around the original cast or those that came after them, the movie would have been a huge hit. Re-sparking a franchise like Ghostbusters through a third movie seems to make more sense then continuing Rambo or Rocky.

Justice League Movie Chooses Diversity Over Continuity

It’s really unfortunate to live in a country that is still so tied up with racial issues that they have to manipulate a concept to account for as much diversity as possible. In the case of the upcoming Justice League of America movie, Rapper Common has been selected to play the JLA’s Green Lantern representative, John Stewart. Why is this an issue? There are four Green Lanterns that have been the center of the comic book line and John Stewart is on the bottom of the fan favorite list. Apparently the producers didn’t feel that other black DC superheroes like Black Lightning or Doctor Midnight would hold the same appeal.

It seems that few people actually understand that Green Lantern’s are an intergalactic police force, but I’ll spare you the nerdy details. What you need to understand is that there are three other Green Lanterns that have a developed and unique story line, while Stewart’s highlights involved voluntarily crippling himself out of guilt and bringing misplaced aliens back to their home world.  I wish I was kidding, but that’s all John Stewart is. What’s worse is that the Justice League cartoon decided to combine John Stewart’s history with Hal Jordan (by far the best Green Lantern ever) and pretend he never existed (until a later episode). Even in comparison to Kyle Rayner or Guy Gardner, Stewart is a dud.

If you want to make something diverse, then take the example of Nick Fury being played by Samuel l. Jackson in the upcoming Iron Man movie. Fury was already a bad ass and could easily be any ethnicity without losing anything character wise. But in this situation, it’s more like asking for Batman’s help and you get Robin instead.
