I am already a big girl, but now I would like to make a small confession, I am still fond of cartoons and cartoon heroes, I still go to the cinema in order to watch cartoons! For some its smoking others its casino poker, but for me cartoons is my one and only addiction - I just can’t shake it off! So, the following information will be interested to cartoon-lovers, because here I will give a list of the most popular cartoon heroes of all times. And, I want to pay your attention, it is just a list, it goes without any ranking!!!

The first one, will be… Casper the friendly ghost. Now Casper is a ghost, but his original name used to be Casper McFadden. Casper in a rather old ghost, he was born in 1940s by Joe Oriolo and Seymour Reit. Originally, Casper was made as an illustration to children’s book. But, it turned out, that Casper is very popular and so the first film was released by Paramount in 1945. It was very successful. Casper is a friendly ghost, who like people and tries to be a friend to them. He hates scaring people.

Mickey Mouse. This character made well-known and popular not only mice, but also the Walt Disney Company. Now it is their icon. He is even older than Casper, Mickey Mouse was born in 1928 by Walt Disney. Mickey went a long way from a comic character to the most recognizable emblem. Mickey Mouse was created as a replacement of another cartoon Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. And Mickey didn’t fail! He had a girl-friend Minnie Mouse.

Now we deal with Donald Duck. It is another popular icon and character of Disney cartoons. It is younger than Mickey Mouse, Donald was born in 1934. His full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck. Donald is very famous because of his social character and explosive temper, very very often he can not control himself. One more interesting fact, Donald’s voice is recognizable throughout the world. He was voiced by actor Clarence Nash.

And now, we move closer and closer to … Scooby-Doo! Actually, it is a multiseries American animated television series. They were made by Hanna-Barbera Productions and then it was absorbed by Warner Bros., and Scooby-Doo became just a very popular talking dog, which can be easily scared. Scoby-Doo has four friends and together in their van called “Mystery Machine” they travel around the world and reveal different mysteries.

Frederick F. Flintstone or commonly called as Fred is nowadays a rather popular cartoon and movie hero. Fred has a wife - Wilma Flintstone and a son - Pebbles Flintstone and best friends-neighbours Betty and Barney Rubble. They live in the fictional city named Bedrock and it is a prehistoric era but they already posses modern appliances like telephone, autos and washing machines.

And now one of the most famous Bunnies in the world - Bugs Bunny. It is a hero of Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies by Warner., Bros. He was born in 1940 in Brooklyn (New York). Bugs Bunny is widely known because of his constant carrot-chewing and a catchphrase, “What’s up, Doc?” When this catchphrase was used for the first time it has an unbelievable success!

Now let’s turn our attention to the modern heroes. For example, The Simpsons. It is an animated sitcom, produced by the Fox Broadcasting Company. In a comic an ironic form, these series touch the most urgent problems of the American Society: culture, behaviour, television, relations between people. Simpsons live in the fictional city called Springfield.

Of course, while talking about the heroes of iour times, we could not but mention a SpongeBob! He is a main character in the animated TV series SpongeBob SquarePants, that was shown for the first tine in 1999 on Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is a porous yellow sponge, he always smiles and has big blue eyes, huge front teeth and dimples. His style is very interesting - he wears a business suit and has a strong resemblance to a kitchen sponge. About Bob it is possible to say that he is an embodiment of the best qualities one can has, he is kind, sweet, gentle, funny and so on.

Another child of civilisation and progress - Bender Bending Rodriguez, another name Robot Bender and also he has a nickname Bending Unit 22. He is a star of animated TV series Futurama. He is a negative comic anti-hero. he has a lot of drawbacks, he likes drinking alcoholic drinks, going out with whores and smoking. But he is a very charismatic Robot.

And the last one, representatives from Russia - Crocodile Gena and his friend Cheburashka. They are best friends and just very good persons, if it possible to say so about crocodile and and and … just Cheburashka. They are friendly, kind, cute and adore travelling together. They were born in the USSR. But they are cool!
